'I can now pay my bills with the money I earn, I'm independent again and that is what I wanted'

Danny, 45, from Maidstone was unemployed for two years before being referred to Kennedy Scott by Job Centre Plus.

Despite having several licenses to operate heavy machinery, Danny found securing work a challenge. He said of his experience: “I handed out around 400 CVs and only two people contacted me back, one of which said I was too experienced for the job. It’s hard to get off the social without a service like Kennedy Scott”.

He continued: “Kennedy Scott listened to what I had to say - before that I had nobody. They help you all the way through your journey, even once in employment. It’s nice they don’t just shut the door.”

Danny secured a job replenishing stock at The Range, a home, garden and leisure retailer in Maidstone.

Rachel Brookes, Office Manager at the Range said: “For me Danny is the life and soul of someone we want to see at the Range. He’s an integral part of the shop floor team.”

Danny is thrilled with his new job saying: “I can now pay my bills with the money I earn, I’m independent again and that is what I wanted.”

He has since visited the Maidstone centre to thank Kennedy Scott staff for all their help and efforts in getting him back to work.
