New Worknet Centre Opened in East London
KS invites partners to see the new job search centre in Leytonstone.
The Worknet IT Resource Centre in Cathall Road in Leytonstone was officially opened on Monday 4th October 2010. Local Councillor Afzal Akram was a special guest and gave an encouraging speech about local community groups and businesses working together for the betterment of the community.
Despite the London underground train strike on the day, over 30 guests attended the celebration included LBWF staff, representatives from Jobcentre Plus and local Children Centres as well as representatives from Worknet partners Ore-gen, Widows and Orphans, Lifeline and PLIAS. Kennedy Scott Business Manager, Beverley Watson welcomed the guests and said “Kennedy Scott is pleased to be a part of the Waltham Forest Worknet Partnership, a network of local organisations working together to provide a key service to local people”
The newly equipped centre will provide free access to high quality hardware and IT packages and the facilities will help to equip jobseekers with essential computer and job search skills which are a necessity in today’s job market. KS staff will be on hand to support clients with their job search, including assisting with CV preparation, completing on line job applications, drafting speculative and covering letters.
