Kennedy Scott gains accreditation

Kennedy Scott successfully achieved the renewal of our two ISO accreditations as well as our re-accreditation against the Matrix Standard for Information, Advice and Guidance following a review by an external assessor.

The ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) is internationally recognised as the world's leading quality management standard and has been implemented by over one million organisations in over 170 countries globally. The purpose of the standard is to assist companies in meeting statutory and regulatory requirements whilst achieving excellence in their customer service and delivery. It provides a framework for consistent performance, reliable service and long-term continuous improvement with quality at the heart of the business.

This accreditation contains eight key principles of quality management, which helps us to improve our business to become better at what we do. We do this by providing evidence to show we are meeting the principles, which in turn helps us to become more efficient, increase credibility and competitiveness and most of all enhanced customer satisfaction, which in turn gains improved customer loyalty, leading to repeat business. The eight key principles are:

Customer focus and customer satisfaction Leadership Involvement of people Process approach Systematic approach to management Continual improvement Factual approach to decision making Mutually beneficial supplier relationship

Janet Waller, the Quality and Compliance Manager said about gaining the renewal of the ISO 9001:2015: “We always say that quality is at the heart of everything we do at Kennedy Scott. It is heart-warming to know that external agencies think we demonstrate this and it allows us to provide proof to our funders that we are serious about delivering a quality service to all our customers.”

The ISO 27001:2013 standard provides a framework for an Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) that enables the continued confidentiality, integrity and availability of information as well as legal compliance. ISO 27001 certification is essential for protecting our most vital assets.

ISO 27001 implementation is an ideal response to customer and legal requirements such as the GDPR and potential security threats including:

Cyber crime Personal data breaches Vandalism / Terrorism Fire / damage Misuse Theft Viral attack

The ISO 27001 standard is also structured to be compatible with other management systems standards, such as ISO 9001 and it is technology and vendor neutral, which means it is completely independent of any IT platform.

The Matrix Standard is the unique quality framework for organisations to assess and measure their information, advice and guidance services, which ultimately supports individuals in their choice of career, learning, work and life goals. The standard consists of four elements that fit around an organisation’s business themes. These four elements are:

Leadership and Management Resource Service Delivery Continuous Quality Improvement

Applying for and getting the Matrix standard award has helped us improve our business and goes to show how much we strive for self-improvement, which is hugely important to our partners and companies, who may want to do business with us in future. To obtain this accreditation we have had to show development on staff training, making sure our quality assurance processes are robust, and by showing that we value what our customers tell us about the service they received and the feedback was being listened to. We did this by encouraging further development from our staff and offering them training courses to help managers identify suitable training for their staff; continued development of Internal Audits, with changes made to the audit templates for both internal and supply chain partner delivery to ensure that the key elements are being monitored and assessed. To help encourage our customers to give feedback we ran a feedback week to make sure we heard what our customers had to say, which was then extended over a three week period to provide us with to gather information from as many of our customers as possible.

Louise Evans, the Business Development Manager said about gaining the Matrix accreditation: “Kennedy Scott have held the Matrix Standard award for a number of years. Giving professional, impartial and up-to-date information, advice and guidance to our customers is paramount to their success in gaining sustainable employment. I am pleased we have retained our accreditation and show that we strive to improve our services over our broad range of contracts and funders”
