About Kennedy Scott
Kennedy Scott has been helping people into work for over 15 years. We work in partnership with the Jobcentre to provide jobseekers with a professional and supportive service. Gateway to Work is one of the courses we run.

What is Gateway to Work?
Gateway to Work is a two week course designed to support you in your search for a job. If you are on or about to start New Deal your Jobcentre Plus advisor will refer you to the Gateway. Once you have a start date you will attend the course at your local centre every day for the full two weeks.

How can the Gateway to Work course help me?
You can expect to find a range of services that support your efforts not only to find the job you want, but also to build an independent life free from some of the worries that being without work may cause. We can also help access other related services that you may find beneficial. Helping you and those around you to create a better future is very important to us. Through a series of simple stages our staff will be there to help you plan every step of the way.

 

Jobs
We have a wide variety of jobs we can put you forward for as well as being able to find opportunities especially matched to your requirements. On our notice boards you will find details of a large of number of jobs vacancies, many of which are only available through Kennedy Scott.

Jobsearch coaching
You may prefer to undertake your own job search in which case our tutors will have ideas and tools to ensure that you get the best results. Knowing how and where to find a job of particular interest to you is a skill in itself and our tutors have access to the widest range of job search methods. They are waiting to share them with you. as part of the process of finding the jobs you want.

Career Advice
You may want extra help in understanding what type of job may best suit your skills and talents. If you need help working out what job you want and how to get it, Kennedy Scott can give you the right advice, offer specialist tools to recognise your strengths and help you to plan your path to your chosen career.

Help with writing your CV
Having a CV that gets you interviews is really important so with support from us you can create a CV that will sell your skills and abilities to employers and make them want to know more about you.

Interview preparation
Getting through that all important interview is hard for everyone, we want to provide support and information that enables you to become the successful candidate. Most of us hope we don’t get asked certain questions at interview. As part of your experience on Kennedy Scott’s Gateway, we will find ways that you can turn the answers into something positive. We will also offer mock interviews to help you practise before your big day.
