Peaches Evans, Holloway Centre |
Petagy Evans, known as Peaches, was supported into employment by the KS team at Holloway Road. Peaches joined our two Gateway to Work course back in October. During her time with KS, Peaches received intensive support that helped her develop jobsearch skills and the confidence to market her skills and previous experience to employers. In particular, she found her KS Job Coach hugely supportive in drawing out her skills and enhancing her CV during one-to-one sessions. In setting her job goals, Peaches decided to take a flexible approach. Her preference was to work as a Receptionist but she was open to any job opportunities in which she could use her excellent customer service skills. After leaving the Gateway course, Peaches continued to receive support with her jobsearch efforts from Kennedy Scott. Her details, job goals and CV were stored on our database and accessed by Urmish Patel, our Employer Liaison Officer, when he was looking for suitable candidates. Urmish was recruiting for temporary Christmas roles at the City branch of House of Fraser and invited Peaches to apply because she demonstrated the requisite customer service skills for the role. Since she started with House of Fraser, Peaches has gone from strength to strength. Her role as a Christmas gift wrapper led to another temporary role in the store’s visual department and then to a permanent position in menswear. Peaches is enjoying her role and particularly appreciates the support of her co-workers and the opportunities she has in the job to meet a wide range of people. Peaches' achievements in her role were recently recognised by a House of Fraser "Most Wanted" award. |
