We are now running a very exciting new pre-recruitment programme for the Metropolitan Police Service.
Having made our mark over the last two years with a number of Job Prep Courses for the Home Office, Pensions Service and the Commonwealth Office, KS were invited to bid for a four-week long, pan-London pre-employment programme. We were successful in securing the project, which started in August. Now into its fifth course we have achieved excellent results placing a total of 44 clients (from 70 completers, i.e. a 63% success rate) into civilian posts such as Deputy Detention Officers and Community Support Officers within the Metropolitan Police. This comprehensive and highly intensive recruitment coaching offers unemployed clients, who would otherwise not be eligible to apply, the chance to develop a civilian career in the Met. It covers a wide range of topics such as motivation, customer service, interview techniques etc, along with a range of practical sessions and a visit to an active Detention unit or Police Station. We are also highly fortunate to have a retired Detective Chief Inspector working alongside our staff, to give a first hand account of the more challenging sides of the job along with mock interviews. The programme has been extremely well received by both Jobcentre Plus and the Met Police who have now promised another 500 jobs throughout next year and, as this is a pan-London contract, it is open to all of our clients in London and the Home Counties.
