ESF Support for Families with Multiple Problems
Kennedy Scott has been selected to deliver the Support for Families with Multiple Problems contracts in the East of England (Luton and all of Hertfordshire) and the South East (Brighton & Hove, West Sussex, Surrey, Canterbury and Maidstone). We are proud to be working in partnership with Reed in Partnership and Skills Training UK our Prime Contractors in these areas.
Launched in January 2012, the new programme will support many of the 120,000 most disadvantaged families in England to overcome intergenerational worklessness and multiple employment barriers, and gain access to, or progress towards, the labour market.
Commissioned by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), and funded by the European Social Fund (ESF), this £200 million national programme will entail Local Authorities and employment-related support service providers working in close partnership to resolve such complex issues as health, housing, and social isolation.
Local Authorities will identify and refer eligible families, at least one member of which must be in receipt of working age benefits. Kennedy Scott will provide an in-depth assessment of personal and structural barriers to employment, and personalised development planning to identify and address individual support requirements. In addition, we will deliver a bespoke pre- and post-employment service of up to 12 months’ personal and employability skills support, vocational information, advice and guidance.
An Individual Action Plan will be agreed, developed and implemented by participants in partnership with their advisor, who will organise the activities, measures, and support needed to increase participant confidence and motivation, and improve their employment opportunities. These will be reviewed, revised and updated monthly, with wider family issues and lifestyle factors being addressed through a Family Progress Plan.
